Triumph Motorcycles has launched a new and impressive special edition Trident 660, with a dynamic and contemporary graphic scheme designed to attract new fans of Triumph and Triumph Shift-Assist.
New for 2024, the Trident Triple Tribute celebrates the legendary Triumph three-cylinder engines and will be available for only one year. This extremely popular naked roadster is now available with a distinct graphic scheme, which is a contemporary version of the iconic “white, blue and red” competition livery of Triumph and features the “67” number graphic, which has already adorned the most famous Trident in history, the “Slippery Sam”.
The characteristic and unique performance of the three-cylinder engine and the appreciated maneuverability of the Trident will be further enhanced with the addition of Triumph Shift Assist, increasing an already impressive specification and equipment list for its class. The colors combined with the standard ‘fly screen’ and ‘belly pan’ give an even more exclusive character to the distinctive style of the Trident, displaying the exceptional standard of detail and finish that is synonymous with Triumph.
TRIPLE TRIBUTE EDITION EXCLUSIVE DESIGN
The Trident Triple Tribute has a modern and stunning design, inspired by the most famous Triumph three-cylinder motorcycle of all time, ‘Slippery Sam’, which is the only motorcycle to win five production races at the TT in five consecutive years, from 1971 to 1975. The white, blue, and red scheme, with matching ‘fly screen’ and ‘belly pan,’ stands out in the clean and minimalist lines, beautiful silhouette, and inspiring confidence balance of the Trident.
The distinctive design of the tank with the number 67 incorporates unique knee cutouts, complementing the fluid seat line. With impeccable attention to detail, the Trident 660 features high-quality Triumph badges on the headlight and taillight, and the logo on the fuel tank cap, handlebar clamp, and instruments, as well as an embossed Trident emblem with diamond-machined details. Radiator covers in the bike’s color, aluminum handlebar clamp and heel guards, fork protectors in the bike’s color, tapered aluminum handlebars, tear-shaped rearview mirrors, black five-spoke lightweight cast aluminum wheels, complete the appealing look.
TRIPLE-CYLINDER ENGINE PERFORMANCE ADVANTAGE
With a dedicated Trident tuning, the popular 660cc three-cylinder engine was developed to provide the character and performance benefits of a ‘three-cylinder’ to riders in the mid-weight sport naked category, providing the perfect balance between low-end torque, mid-range, and top-end power. A deep and distinct sound typical of the three-cylinder is provided through a compact and minimalist stainless steel premium finish silencer.
Fully compliant with Euro 5 standards, the engine delivers a maximum power of 81 hp @ 10,250 rpm with a progressive, smooth and linear delivery, as well as a maximum torque of 64 Nm @ 6,250 rpm. In Europe, an A2 conversion kit is available with accessory adjustments, including the specific A2 APS handlebar and an exclusive engine tuning that restricts maximum power to 47 hp, or 35kW, and maximum torque to 59 Nm. The bike can be further restricted at the dealership once the rider has completed the levels of their driving license.
The smooth six-speed gearbox of the Trident, with optimized transmission ratios and final drive to make the driving experience easy and fun, is further enhanced by the addition of Triumph Shift Assist, included as standard in this special edition. This quickshifter allows clutchless up and downshifts, with an autoblipper on downshifts for quick and seamless gear changes.
CLASS-LEADING HANDLING
Recognized for its agile, sporty, and confidence-inspiring feel on the road, the Trident has an accessible seat height of 805 mm and a low weight (fully fueled) of 189 kg. It leads the class with a high specification of brand equipment, including black Showa inverted forks that provide 120 mm of front wheel travel and adjustable pre-load Showa RSU monoshock with linkage that provides 133.5 mm of rear wheel travel.
For great braking power, the Trident features Nissin two-piston brakes with two 310 mm discs and Michelin Road 5 tires, giving the rider confidence in all weather conditions.
The Trident has its own frame with tubular steel construction, lightweight tapered aluminum bars, and lightweight 17″ cast aluminum sport wheels that, combined with the high specification equipment, provide a light steering weight and agility that inspires confidence and is easy to control.
HIGH SPECIFICATION TECHNOLOGY
The Trident 660 offers full LED lighting*, ABS, Road and Rain Riding Modes, switchable traction control, and ride-by-wire throttle for precise and sharp throttle response, as well as a practical color TFT display, multifunctional, integrated with a “white on black” LCD screen.
