Toprak Razgatlioglu has already shown that he can win with the ROKiT BMW, by winning the first race and the Superpole race of the World Superbike Championship. The Assen round follows this weekend, where the rider looks to continue his good results.
The 2021 champion started by saying in the preview: ‘I am very happy to return to Assen again. We still don’t know how the weather will be, but it’s always a bit difficult there. It seems it will be cold and maybe with some rain; we will see‘.
Knowing that Michael van der Mark is competing at home, Razgatlioglu admitted that he hopes to have the help of his teammate: ‘It’s Mickey’s home round and maybe he can help me a bit because it’s my first time there with the BMW and Mickey is always strong there, so maybe he can help me with some lines and some data. We are always working together and I am very happy with that‘.
As for his goals, the Turkish rider made it clear that he wants to be back in one of the top three positions: ‘My goal is to fight for the podium again, but I am here with the BMW M 1000 RR for the first time and maybe my feeling is very good and I am fighting for the win. We will see during the competition weekend. Overall I am happy, and since it’s Mickey’s home round, I hope we finish the race on the podium together‘.
Finally, Razgatlioglu spoke about his preparation: ‘I am ready, I continue to train every day and I have been pushing myself especially in the last five days, training two or three times a day. I am feeling truly prepared to fight and everyone on the team is working very hard. This is also a very good motivation for me. We have done a very good job so far and I think we can also do it in Assen. We will see during the competition weekend‘.
