In 2024, Toprak Razgatlioglu begins a new chapter in his career in the World Superbike Championship, with his arrival at BMW. The official presentation took place this week, just over a month before the start of the championship in Phillip Island.
The 2021 champion, who comes from Yamaha, showed excitement about the first impressions: ‘I am very happy to join the BMW Motorrad family. When I arrived in Berlin and left the airport, I was really surprised because everyone was speaking Turkish. There are also many Turkish employees in the factory. I am very happy about this. Overall, I am very positive. Especially during the presentation, there were many people and I also understand that many people like me. Many people came to see me, there are also several Turks, and many of them came from far away. Everyone is excited for the season, and so am I‘.
Focused on the work ahead, Razgatlioglu reiterated his confidence in his ability to fight for titles from the beginning: ‘My focus is now on the season. I realized that people believe in me, but it is important to believe in your bike. Many people say that BMW is not ready to fight for the championship, but I believe that my bike is ready to fight for victories and the championship. We just need my tuning because my riding style is completely different. When we have this, we can easily fight for the win‘.
The Turk is now looking at the Jerez tests next week, explaining that there is work ahead in order to be able to fight for the desired results: ‘Now I’m only focusing on next week’s test. It’s really important to me. I need to adapt to the bike and I believe we can fight for podiums and victories this season. I’m excited. I signed with BMW, but I’m also part of the family. This is something I saw again at the presentation and it’s great. I will give more than 100 percent, I will try to win with BMW. Everyone is working hard and this is a great extra motivation for me as well. If we continue to do this, we will win the World Championship‘.
