Toprak Razgatlioglu confirmed his departure from BMW and WorldSBK for 2026, in an emotional press conference at Misano where he revealed his conflicted feelings about moving to MotoGP. The Turkish rider from ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team showed determination to win the world title before his departure, considering this achievement essential to crown his Superbike career.

The three-time world champion expressed the emotional duality he feels about changing categories. ‘On one side, I feel sad; on the other, I’m so happy. I’m sad because I feel like WorldSBK is part of my family’, confessed Razgatlioglu. This deep connection to the WorldSBK paddock reflects years of success and relationships built throughout his career, making the farewell particularly difficult for the Turkish rider.

The WorldSBK family atmosphere was highlighted by Razgatlioglu as one of the aspects he will miss most. ‘I’ll miss everyone! Not only the racing but especially the teams; I’m always talking to the teams. I’m really good friends with everyone and I’ll miss everyone’, he observed.

Despite the nostalgia, Razgatlioglu doesn’t hide his excitement about the MotoGP challenge. ‘Moving to MotoGP as a three-time WorldSBK Champion is my biggest dream for this year’, he stated. However, the Turk maintains focus on the present, with the 2024 title fight still open against Nicolò Bulega, being only 31 points behind in the overall standings.

Razgatlioglu’s commitment to BMW remains unwavering until season’s end. ‘This is my last year with BMW, and I need to give something to them before I move to MotoGP’, he declared.
