Tony Arbolino had the precious help of someone who knows what it’s like to be a champion in MotoGP, Jorge Lorenzo, whom he praised for how he helped him grow, both professionally and personally.
The Marc VDS rider spoke about the Spaniard in an interview with Motosan, and revealed how he helped him: ‘Jorge, as a person, helped me. People can talk and say whatever they want. But, at that moment, he gave me that confidence. I went to Switzerland, to my mother’s house, to train with him and his trainer. He gave me his confidence, he gave me his time, he gave me his trainer. That means a lot to me’.
Regarding what he learned most from the former pilot, whether in terms of technique or personality, Arbolino clarified: ‘Mentality. Much more. It was ‘there is nothing beyond motorcycles’. I had that mentality, but I didn’t know how to express it. It’s just this and there is nothing else, there is only plan A. It’s just this and improving and doing things well. This was the mentality that I ‘caught’ and tried to get out of.’
