Joan Mir on the first day of testing in Jerez was in 20th position. However, the Spanish rider was satisfied with the conclusion of the tests, revealing that Honda knows what it needs to do to improve.
In the debrief, the Repsol Honda Team rider talked about the steps that were taken during the tests and the feelings he had throughout the day.
– ‘Today was a more positive day. We tried a different system and concept, I think it was working well and it is the direction we need to develop, not now, but for the future. Now we know the direction we need to go.’
Asked about the bike he used today, during the tests and what he tested, Mir replied: ‘We tested different aspects of the engine, just different things in order to understand the direction we need to take. We tried to find what was missing, we realized that we lost a lot in some more specific areas and that gave us an idea of the path we need to take.’
