Francesco Bagnaia did what very few have done in the MotoGP era, by becoming world champion two years in a row. The Ducati rider has the chance to extend the streak to three in 2024 – being the apparent strongest candidate for the title.
What would it mean to achieve this third consecutive title? ‘Three are better than two. I will try to do my best, the ambition is obviously to win again. The bike’s performance is there, my team is fantastic and if we work well we have a chance. So, head down, and give my best to try to confirm,’ said the Italian.
Asked if he feels different from a mental standpoint at the beginning of a new season after two titles, Bagnaia denied: ‘No, honestly no, because I want to continue doing what I love and what I am doing. The ambition is the same and the work in the garage is the same. The work at home is even greater, so it will always be like this and I want to continue like this’.
