Since arriving in MotoGP in 2017, KTM has been progressing every year, getting closer and closer to the top of the premier class. In 2024, they aim to take steps towards fighting for titles and have been working towards that goal over the past few months, also adjusting their methods as team manager Francesco Guidotti revealed.
The manager told the press that he is happy with the work done over the past few months, emphasizing that now is the time to act on the track: ‘I think we did a good job during the winter and the riders’ feelings are improving and lap times were truly crazy for everyone. It is true that track conditions overall were great during the three days of testing. We have two more days of testing ahead just to prepare the final details and select the final parts. And then the start will be here. So there is no more room for talking and making speeches and considerations, but it is almost time to act‘.
Despite having a slightly different approach to the 2024 winter tests, Guidotti assured that the work was similar and he is encouraged for the new season: ‘We did a slightly different job compared to the 2023 winter tests. The foundation we have now is solid and we started working more on the details. But comparing to last year’s winter tests, the same aspect is that we never gave the rider the same bike every day. So, the feeling they have is only a small part of what they will have during the season. We started from a different level, but we did a similar type of work. So we can be optimistic‘.
