Franco Morbidelli finished the Americas GP outside of the points. The Italian rider suffered a fall towards the end of the race that ended up affecting Miguel Oliveira’s descent of a few positions. The Portuguese rider had to avoid Morbidelli’s bike and lost 4 positions in the classification.
However, the Prima Pramac Racing rider said in the debrief that it was a positive weekend and that he gained even more experience with his new Ducati.
– ‘The weekend was very positive, unfortunately the track conditions during the race were very different because it was very hot and had little grip. However, the most important thing was our pace, which improved a lot and now I am looking forward to Jerez. There is still a lot of work to do in terms of speed, I would say about two or three tenths to get closer to the leading Ducatis.’
Asked about the progress he has been making since the beginning of the year, Franco replied: ‘It’s going well, I didn’t expect to jump on the bike and be fast right away, but the progress is going very well and in Jerez we will start from where we left off here, in the Americas.’
