Right in his first test with Ducati and Gresini, Marc Márquez surprised in Valencia last November, being the fourth fastest. The rider had a first day dedicated to adaptation, from which he came out with a lot to learn and improve, but also convinced that he had good speed.
The Spaniard told DAZN: ‘In the end, you jump onto the champion bike, so it’s in your hands. The first day was about adapting to the positions. We were changing things, because in some I am not comfortable at all, but the speed was there. I understood the bike and how to manage things. I still have a lot to learn, maybe not to be faster, but to be more consistent and safe‘.
Now, Márquez will have five more days of testing in Malaysia (Sepang) and Qatar (Losail) before the season begins. These five days will be key to being prepared for the first Grand Prix he will compete in without being a Repsol Honda rider.
