Ducati seems to be in pole position to once again dictate the pace in the upcoming season. The general manager of the Italian manufacturer, Gigi Dall’Igna, did not hide his satisfaction with the good results shown in the tests.
‘We are very pleased, but it would not be wise to make predictions. We will have to wait for the first races,’ the executive told MCN, as quoted by Motosan.es.
‘If we focus on wins and podium finishes, the 2023 season was impressive and unique. Certainly, the concessions give an advantage to the other manufacturers, allowing them to take more risks and change engines… I hope they are competitive, as we observed during the tests,’ he added.
Dall’Igna also spoke about the title fight in the upcoming season, in which the various riders representing the Borgo Panigale factory are considered contenders for the championship.
‘We are working on renewing the contract with Pecco Bagnaia, but as you know, the contract of someone who has already been a one or two-time world champion is always complicated. The fact that Marc Márquez maintains a more discreet profile shows that he is an intelligent person,’ he concluded.
