The route of Dakar 2024 was unveiled this Monday. The event is scheduled for January 5-19 in Saudi Arabia and marks the beginning of another season of the World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC).
The prologue starts and finishes in AlUla on January 5, with 27km against the clock. This is followed by the first stage between AlUla and Al Henakiyah with 405km timed. On January 11 and 12, starting and finishing in Shubaytah, there is a stage split into two, without assistance, covering 584km against the clock between the two days in the heart of the Empty Quarter.
After the rest day on January 13, the longest stage in a single day will be the seventh, on January 14, with 483km timed out of a total of 873km. The finish will be on January 15 in Yanbu, with 175km against the clock before the winners are crowned. In total, the drivers will face 4,727km of specials and 7,891km in total.
