Miguel Oliveira finished today’s race at the Japanese GP in an unfortunate way, as he was running at a highly competitive pace and was in fourth place until, inexplicably, he slowed down and ended up going off track, with the rider himself stating that it was due to adverse visibility conditions, with water entering his helmet visor.
Now it was Wilco Zeelenberg’s turn to express his frustration with this incident: ‘Round 14 ended with mixed feelings. Miguel had a good pace in the race, but unfortunately it started raining harder and everyone started with dry visors. The rain was pouring down and water got into his helmet, so he couldn’t see anything for a few laps’.
The Portuguese rider’s retirement was solely due to his safety, assured the Team Manager of CryptoDATA RNF MotoGP:
– For security reasons, he decided to go to the boxes. Unfortunately, once again, after he entered, the race was stopped half a lap later due to weather conditions.
