Kymco confirms once again its presence at EICMA and does so by bringing numerous novelties to its scooter range. Last year, the Taiwanese manufacturer surprised us with the special concepts SuperNex and RevoNex, a sporty and a naked fully electric.
For 2024, important updates arrive for the Kymco range
Dink X 125
The Kymco Dink X 125, at first glance, seems like an interesting combination of aesthetics and functionality. Modern lines, well-defined details, and a riding position designed to ensure comfort and safety.
The liquid cooling engine develops 15 hp at 8750 rpm and 12 Nm of torque at 8,250 rpm and has a particularly linear performance. It is worth noting the availability of the keyless start system. The suspension was specifically designed for off-road use and consists of a telescopic fork and a pair of shock absorbers. The decision to equip the tires with CST tread ensures a good level of safety, even on particularly slippery surfaces. As for the brakes, the Dink X 125 is equipped with the combined braking system consisting of steel discs at the front and rear.
Downtown 350GT
The structure of the new Kymco Downtown 350GT is characterized by tense lines, making the design elegant and sporty. However, the space for the driver and passenger has not been compromised.
The front of the cockpit houses the headlights with fully LED technology with vertical development and turn signals mounted on the fairing. The lateral perspective of the Downtown 350GT confirms its cruiser scooter vocation. The foot space allows great freedom of movement, both longitudinally (with multiple supports) and horizontally, thanks to a particularly large available surface.
The standout feature is the color TFT screen of the instrumentation, which, thanks to the smartphone connectivity system, allows managing phone calls and messages, as well as viewing navigation directions. The available screens provide access to various information, including the fuel level in the 12.5-liter tank and the outside temperature. Tire pressure can be monitored directly from the screen, through TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System) sensors. Cruise Control and the compartment under the seat with light complete the standard equipment.
The liquid-cooled 321 cc single-cylinder engine, with 28.3 hp and 30 Nm, delivers smooth and linear performance, with particularly low vibrations. The declared fuel consumption in the technical specifications is 26 km/l. Traction control is not absent.
Filly 50
A classic and deliberately retro visual, ultra-compact dimensions, top reliability, and minimal operating costs: this is the calling card with which the new Kymco Filly 50 presents itself, the natural heir to the model that was among the first 50 to 4 times, a true best-seller in its category.
The low ground clearance makes it easy to drive, even for beginner drivers and those who are not tall. The little over 100 kg contributes to even easier driving. The engine configuration favors consumption: with prudent driving, the mark of 40 km/liter can be easily surpassed. The frame is based on a telescopic fork and a monoshock, with 12-inch alloy wheels at the front and rear.
The Filly 50 aims to be economical, but without sacrificing anything remarkable. The lighting is fully LED, the instrumentation is based on an analog speedometer accompanied by a digital display for secondary information. Two compartments for storing objects are available in the rear of the cabin, the left one equipped with a USB socket, very convenient for storing your smartphone.
Sky Town 150 ABS
The Sky Town is the new global scooter designed by Kymco to tackle the city and the busiest traffic with extremely low fuel consumption, in the versions with a 150cc and 125cc engine.
The front of the Sky Town features sleek lines and a design that enhances its dynamic nature. With integrated LED lighting on the front panel and a large windshield, the sides are slim and seamlessly connect to the rear of the scooter.
The air-cooled 150cc engine of the Sky Town 150 is completely new, specific interventions have made the cooling more effective, benefiting reliability and engine life, even when subjected to particularly intense use. With Euro 5+ approval, the new 150cc engine has a maximum power of 8.5 kW (approx. 11.5 hp) at 8,500 rpm, with a maximum torque of 11.3 Nm at 6,500 rpm. In addition, the new Sky Town is also available with a 125cc engine, with a power of 8.1 kW (11 hp) at 8,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 9.8 Nm at 6,500 rpm. The frame and fairing are the same as the 150cc, so agility and maneuverability are maintained, also benefiting from the low weight: 117.5 kg in both engine versions.
The rims are alloy with tires 110/70-14 (front) and 130/70-13 (rear), paired with a disc brake system. The 150 cc version of the Sky Town comes equipped with ABS, while the 125 cc version offers the CBS system. For storage, there is a dual front compartment: the left one is open and has a USB port, while the right one has a snap-lock cover. Additionally, there is a spacious compartment under the seat that can accommodate a regular-sized helmet and other items.
