At EICMA 2023, Honda presented a new version of the CB1000 Hornet to the world. And, 12 months later, the Japanese manufacturer has yet to launch it on the market, nor the SP variant, requiring a longer wait.
According to Motorrad Online, although the reasons are unclear, the model will only reach the market in 2025. The motorcycle will feature a 999 cubic centimeter four-cylinder engine that delivers 152 hp.
The SP version, homologated in September in Germany, is registered with 116 kW of power, equivalent to 157 hp, compared to the 152 hp of the base version, which includes ride-by-wire, three riding modes, and traction control.
The frame is made of steel, and the suspension features Showa components with an USD fork in the front and a shock absorber in the rear. The front wheel has two brake discs and four-piston radial calipers with ABS. The materials used for both the suspension and brakes may be more advanced in the SP version.
On board, the rider of the Honda CB1000 Hornet will find an instrument panel based on a five-inch TFT screen, with smartphone connectivity and even voice control. The lighting is LED. There are three known color schemes: Grand Prix Red; matte Mat Iridium Gray Metallic; and Pearl Glare White.
