The MotoGP paddock has some changes for the upcoming season, including a rookie, which also means alterations in the lineup of chief mechanics. However, most of the riders will stick with the engineers they had in 2023, including Miguel Oliveira who remains with Giovanni Mattarollo at Trackhouse Racing.
Marc Márquez leaves Repsol Honda to join Gresini, also parting ways with his longtime chief mechanic, Santi Hernández… who will now work with Joan Mir at Repsol Honda. Frankie Carchedi will be with Márquez.
Álex Rins not only takes Franco Morbidelli’s place at Monster Energy Yamaha, but also retains his chief mechanic, Patrick Primmer. Paul Trevathan worked with the seasoned Pol Espargaró at GasGas Tech3 and will be alongside his successor, rookie Pedro Acosta.
David Muñoz is a new chief mechanic in MotoGP in 2024 and will be alongside Fabio Di Giannantonio at Pertamina Enduro VR46. Morbidelli takes over the position and with the chief mechanic of Johann Zarco at Prima Pramac, Massimo Branchini.
Meanwhile, the Frenchman will work with David García at Castrol Honda LCR, in a direct succession to Rins. Another novelty is at Repsol Honda, where newcomer Luca Marini will have Giacomo Guidotti as chief mechanic – he worked with Mir in 2023.
