Pedro Acosta arrives in MotoGP this year and, last November, had his first contact with the KTM RC16 he will ride. The bike is very different from the one he had in the last two years in Moto2, and he talked about what impressed him the most.
The GasGas Tech3 Spanish rider told MotoSprint that the MotoGP bike has some similarities with the Moto3 one, but it is also a true racing bike: ‘It definitely has the character of a pure racing bike. It reminds me of Moto3 in terms of riding position, with a high seat and your body weight more forward. If Moto2 was a combination of race setup and a road engine, this KTM is definitely a racing bike in every sense!’
Next, Acosta highlighted some aspects: ‘The screen has thousands of lights, there are several buttons to activate and deactivate, very sensitive movement. Just a slight touch can cause you loss of stability and precision. The bike reacts immediately to any wrong body movement. There are so many things to remember, otherwise…’
