The alignment of the MotoE World Championship for 2024 is officially closed. There will be 18 riders in the electric bike championship, with several changes compared to last year.
The highlight is the return of Chaz Davies to competition. After a successful career in the Superbike World Championship, the rider ended his career at the end of 2021 and now returns to the tracks in MotoE with the new Aruba Cloud MotoE Racing Team. His teammate will also be a rookie in the category – Armando Pontone.
Last year’s champion, Mattia Casadei, sought a new challenge and will compete for LCR E-Team, where he will team up with one of his main rivals: Eric Granado. Héctor Garzó continues at Dynavolt Intact GP and Lukas Tulovic joins the team, returning to MotoE after a year in Moto2. Klint Forward is one of the new teams and has chosen two experienced riders: Andrea Mantovani, coming from RNF, and María Herrera.
AXXIS-MSI is also making its debut, with Miquel Pons (formerly of Tech3) and Oscar Gutiérrez – who will have his first full season after competing in two rounds for Pramac last year. Openbank Aspar retains Jordi Torres, who will be aiming for a new title, and welcomes Kevin Zannoni from Ongetta SIC58 Squadra Corse – where his place alongside Kevin Manfredi was taken by newcomer Massimo Roccoli.
As for Tech3 E-Racing, they have signed Nicholas Spinelli from Pons to be the new teammate of Alessandro Zaccone. The only team that made no changes is Felo Gresini, which continues with Alessio Finello and Matteo Ferrari.
To make room for Aruba Cloud MotoE, AXXIS-MSI, and Klint Forward, three teams have left: HP Pons Los40, Prettl Pramac, and RNF MotoE Team, which, unlike what happened in MotoGP, was not taken over by Trackhouse Racing.
