Luca Marini had difficulties getting out of the back of the pack during the MotoGP Qatar Grand Prix, particularly in the main race – where he finished 20th and second to last of those who crossed the finish line.
During the race, he had the chance to ride behind Jack Miller (Red Bull KTM). Although the Australian was not at his best, Marini was able to draw some conclusions in comparison with the RC16, as he explained:
– I think Jack wasn’t at his best either. But it’s certain that they have a lot of grip, especially in the final part of the entry, at the rear. And they can make the bike turn more easily in the middle of the corner using the rear grip, and also accelerate and continue to turn. This is something we struggle with more, especially from my side. So, this is rear grip, but it especially starts in the entry phase; their bike turns better than mine.
