TTR Motors in Sōka has produced a special kit, which is reversible, that turns the Honda Monkey 125 into a small road bike from the 1980s, a bonsai version of the F900 Bol d’Or.
The Japanese workshop is known as much for its Golden Wing classics as for its small horizontal single-cylinder engines, so it decided to combine skills by creating what it calls the “Fmon kit”.
It consists mainly of a plastic monocoque that reproduces the shape of the tank, seat and rear of the legendary F750 Bol D’or, the Japanese model of the F900 Bol d’Or that was also so successful in our country. With this transformation, the original gas tank is preserved, although it is completely covered by the fake F-style tank and the lid is also “covered” by a perfectly 1980s-style lid. The rear light is rectangular like on the CB900, as are the indicators and the seat, all faithful replicas of the F. The flat matte black exhaust system was designed by TTR Motors, as the Monkey’s original exhaust is raised and wouldn’t fit properly.
Finally, there’s a double chrome horn and a front cover derived from the MSX 125 Grom. The cost of the unpainted kit is around 1,000 euros, but if you want one of the three specific colors, the price rises to 1,600 euros. On top of this, there are shipping costs and possible import taxes, since for the time being TTR Motors only sells in its own country, Japan. TTR Motors is no stranger to this type of conversion and last year produced a kit to turn the MSX 125 Grom into a mini CB 1100 R.
