On the eve of the start of the new Superbike World Championship season, the new safety car – the Dodge Challenger SRT – was officially presented, marking the American manufacturer’s entry into the list of championship partners.
Two units will be present at each circuit starting from the Barcelona round. They have a 6.2L HEMI V8 engine that delivers 717hp. The Dodge Durango SUVs will be the official cars of the race director and the FIM safety delegate. There will be two Durango specifications – the SRT Hellcat with a 6.2L V8 engine and 710hp, and the SRT with a 6.4L Hemi V8 engine and 475hp.
But the partnership doesn’t stop there. The Dodge brand will be present on the top step of the podium symbolizing the victory of the driver. Next to the podium, a third Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye with a 6.2L Hemi V8 engine and 807hp will be on display.
