What do you think of Honda’s range of modern scooters? If you like the engine of the ADV 160 and PCX 160, but have been wanting something with a bit more style, Team Red would love to interest you in the new Stylo 160.
The latest scooter in the range is packed with modern conveniences such as LED lighting, your choice of ABS or CBS brake assist, Honda Smart Key, a USB socket for charging your smartphone on the move and a clear digital display.
At the same time, it ditches the ultra-modern (but somewhat insipid) styling cues of the PCX 160. It also ditches the rugged adventure aesthetic of the ADV 160, because that’s not its purpose. Instead, the Stylo 160’s goal is clear from its name: Style
With the Stylo 160, it’s all in the details. The color-matched mirrors match your choice of six colors: Royal Green, Royal Matte White, Royal Matte Black, Glam Red, Glam Black or Glam Beige. The seat, bed and handle details also change depending on the color of the Stylo 160 you choose.
All Royal colors have brown seats, platforms and handles that stand out from the fairing. Matte silver handlebars and other details complete the look and give it an elegant finish. The 12-inch bronze wheels are the pièce de résistance of this trim level.
If you choose the Glam colors, your scoot comes closer to the modern side of the “modern classic” range. The seat, bases, handle bar and grips are all black. The same goes for the wheels, which is probably useful if you don’t like cleaning brake dust at regular intervals.
Both the Royal and Glam versions have discreet all-black exhausts fitted to the lower right-hand side of the scooter. The forks, headlights and levers are all silver, but there isn’t much other silver, which is refreshing.
So far, Honda has only introduced the Stylo 160 to the Indonesian market, but it seems quite likely that it will reach other markets in Asia (and probably Europe and possibly the US eventually) in the coming weeks and months. Unlike some of Thai Honda’s limited editions in a single market, the Stylo 160 is clearly a new model with a mission to win over scooterists in several regions by 2024.
