Álex Márquez is in his second season of MotoGP at Gresini, riding a Ducati bike. Therefore, he has the stability to continue the work started in 2023, now being able to focus on progression.
Quoted by Europa Press, the Spanish rider stated: ‘I hope to continue growing as a rider. This 2024 had to be a year of evolution, in fact, that is the goal: to make fewer mistakes, be further ahead and be more solid. This would be the real goal, to be more regularly within the top seven‘.
Despite still riding a Ducati bike, Márquez now has the Desmosedici GP23 – last year he had the GP22. And he considers there is an improvement between the bikes:
– It is a bit more critical bike for my riding, and it has more potential. This year’s bike is much faster and that pushes us to the limit more, but it is a competitive bike and can perform well at many circuits. We will have to take advantage of the opportunities we have to get podiums and be in front.
After three rounds, Márquez’s best result is sixth place in the Qatar GP, returning to the points with 15th place in the Americas GP after retiring in Portimão. In the championship, he is in 13th position.
