After an unexpected sixth place in Le Mans, Takaaki Nakagami reflected on the difficulty of gathering useful technical feedback in the rain, lamenting poor electronics performance and the ever-changing track.

When asked if there was any valuable information for wet setup, the Japanese rider was clear: ‘Honestly, this kind of condition is difficult to try new things. It was a wet race and, on our side, we started with the base setup from last season.’

The challenge was made worse by mechanical updates: ‘The electronics weren’t matching so well because I had a new engine, and the condition was always changing.’

Nakagami tried to adapt on the fly: ‘I changed the map during the race, but never had a good feeling. The traction control was too much, too much.’

Still, there was useful data collected: ‘But anyway, they had a lot of good data, and so hopefully it will help for developing a little bit more speed up.’
