The sales and marketing director of Gresini Racing, Carlo Merini, in statements to AS, spoke about the luck that the Ducati satellite team has in having a rider like Marc Márquez.
Merini first spoke about the surprise when Marc chose the Gresini Racing team.
– We were surprised by what happened last year. The planets aligned for Marc to end up in our team and he arrived. I think Álex did a good job promoting the team in this sense, not technically, but so that Marc understood that we are a family (and the two brothers emphasized it with a song dedicated to the Gresini team)
He then talked about the option of the one-year contract for the Spanish rider: ‘He asked for a one-year contract and that was enough for us. If it’s a story that only lasts a year, we are happy and grateful that he chose Gresini in this transition season. If the story continued, it would be another dream, but the decision is Marc’s and we have to make the most of every day.’
