Joan Mir did not have a very positive weekend in Australia, once again showing many difficulties in riding his Honda. In yesterday’s race, he ended up seeing a fall ruin a potential points finish, thus ending the race early.
Today, in the debrief after the cancellation of the sprint race, Joan Mir showed agreement with the decision not to hold the sprint, as conditions worsened throughout the morning:
– Well, let’s say it was the expected Sunday, right? Honestly, this morning we tried the track with full conditions, but it was already tough, but still rideable. Then the conditions started to deteriorate and it was probably the right decision to cancel the sprint. We have to move on.
The 2020 world champion also said that in Thailand he hopes to be able to show all the potential of his Honda, with the help of the positive aspects he took from the Australian GP:
– The weekend we had was not the best, but we managed to take something positive for the upcoming races. I think in Thailand we can once again show our potential and thank you all for the support.
