In a particularly challenging weekend at Phillip Island, Miguel Oliveira left the Australian MotoGP Grand Prix with a 13th place in the main race – after never being able to fight for higher positions in practice and qualifying. However, not everything was forgettable for the CryptoDATA RNF MotoGP Team rider.
The #88 explained to SportTV that it was mainly a learning and understanding round of some aspects that have made him less strong: ‘There have been some weekends with slight difficulties in very particular places, especially in the faster corners. And that’s where I’m having more difficulties with the bike. It also seems that the behavior with me in these situations compared to the other three Aprilias is slightly different. This weekend we were able to understand with a setting modification that we had never done before, more or less what I need to feel on the bike. And from that perspective, I consider it a positive weekend’.
Oliveira added: ‘Despite the result, which honestly didn’t matter much to me anymore, what I really wanted was to feel and be more competitive during the race. And that’s what happened‘.
