As an elite sport, MotoGP moves millions of euros, and there is always curiosity about the salaries of the riders. Like any other contractual matter, the numbers are confidential, but there are always estimates and rumors. And Marc Márquez is considered the highest paid.
Numbers from the Sportspayouts website, cited in Racesports.nl, show that the rider who goes to Gresini earned 16 million dollars paid by Repsol Honda last year. That’s 11 million dollars more than two-time champion Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati), who is second on the list with five million dollars – the same as Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha).
A total of 14 out of the 22 permanent riders are said to have earned at least one million dollars last year. Among the “others,” the highest salary is said to have been Miguel Oliveira’s (CryptoDATA RNF MotoGP Team): 750 thousand dollars. It’s even more than runner-up Jorge Martín (Prima Pramac/Ducati), who is said to have received 675 thousand dollars.
The only rookie of the season was Augusto Fernández (GasGas Tech3/KTM), who was one of the four who received the least – 300 thousand dollars, as well as Fabio Di Giannantonio (Gresini/Ducati), Marco Bezzecchi (Mooney VR46 Racing Team/Ducati), and Raúl Fernández (CryptoDATA RNF MotoGP Team/Aprilia).
There is no way to confirm if these salaries correspond to the truth, since, as we have already written, it is a confidential matter of the contracts. According to Racesports.nl, the cited data – collected by Sportspayouts – do not include bonuses or personal sponsorships.
