LCR Honda has just confirmed what has long been expected: the renewal of the contract with Takaaki Nakagami, who will continue to represent the Japanese team for at least another year.
The 31-year-old rider will continue to serve the team and secure another season at the helm of the Honda RC213V, in what will be his seventh year in MotoGP, always with the same team.
Still searching for his best form, the Japanese rider is the second most experienced rider with Honda – only behind Marc Márquez – and could be a key piece in the manufacturer’s quest for the best results.
So far in the premier class, the best final classification Nakagami has achieved was a tenth place in 2020, and this year he is 17th with 35 points accumulated.
It is worth noting that, in this way, LCR Honda will have Johann Zarco and Nakagami as riders for 2024.
