A motorcycle with a six-cylinder engine? It’s a rare idea, but Suzuki explored it 20 years ago with the Stratosphere concept – unveiled at the 2005 Tokyo Motor Show.

The overall design resembled the Katana, but it was the engine that truly impressed: six cylinders, 1,100 cubic centimeters, delivering a sensational 180 horsepower.

Technologically, it featured several elements that are now common in most motorcycles, such as built-in GPS navigation, Bluetooth audio connectivity, LED headlights, and an electronically adjustable windscreen.

There was talk of the Suzuki Stratosphere going into production, but it never happened. Still, it was a high-quality, innovative, and bold concept that left a mark in the history of the Hamamatsu manufacturer – so much so that it remains a topic of conversation two decades later.
