Suzuki Italia has launched a new one-make competition in Italy – the Trofeo GSX-8R Cup, with registrations opening next week on December 10.
As the name suggests, the competition will feature the Suzuki GSX-8R, a sportbike equipped with a 776cc twin-cylinder engine delivering 83 hp and 78 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox featuring a quick shifter system for seamless shifting.
The bike’s suspension setup includes an inverted hydraulic telescopic fork at the front and a hydraulic shock absorber with a swingarm at the rear. Braking duties are handled by dual front discs and a single rear disc, all mounted on 17-inch wheels.
Riders will benefit from a 5-inch color TFT instrument panel, while the design of the GSX-8R is aggressive and decidedly sporty. The bike comes in a Metallic Triton Blue finish. Its pricing varies by region: approximately €10,000 in Europe, $9,439 in the USA, and £8,999 in the UK.
The Trofeo GSX-8R Cup will consist of five rounds, all held in Italy. Registration costs €4,500 for those who already own the bike and €12,700 for participants who need to purchase the motorcycle.
