The EnduroGP world championship had its first round in Portugal, and Steve Holcombe (Honda) was the big winner after a great battle with other top titans of the category.
Talking about his competition Sunday in Fafe, the rider recalled the fight with his main rivals of the day, which lasted a long time: ‘I am very excited to win the EnduroGP today [yesterday]. It was a great battle all day between Josep (García), Nathan (Watson) and myself. I felt good in my riding and managed to put the bike where I wanted on the track’.
In addition, the seven-time EnduroGP world champion debuted with a win with the new team, which left him very satisfied with the upcoming season: ‘It’s fantastic to win so early with Honda and also get my first victory in Enduro1. I am excited for the rest of the season!’
In the overall standings, García leads with 37 points, two more than Holcombe, while Andrea Verona is third with 30.
