Rumors linking Aleix Espargaró to Honda as a test rider in MotoGP in 2025 are growing. The rider announced the end of his career just over a week ago, without revealing what he will do in the future.
Being a test rider was a possibility left open by the Spaniard, even admitting not to continue with Aprilia. And the intensifying rumors point him to Honda, where Stefan Bradl currently holds that position.
In the official MotoGP website broadcast, commentator Matt Birt once again addressed the issue: ‘It seems that Aleix Espargaró has agreed to become the new official test and development rider for HRC,’ he said.
Matt Birt then noted the added value that Espargaró would bring to Honda: ‘He brings a vast experience. It is clear that he helped and was influential in guiding Aprilia from the midfield and back of the grid to being a consistent contender for winning. Therefore, a potentially very shrewd signing by HRC.’.
