The new commercial director of MotoGP, Dan Rossomondo, addressed some current issues and made some revelations.
‘I believe that Spain and Italy are the heart of MotoGP’, the executive began by saying in an interview with Mundo Deportivo, recalling that the public’s passion for the sport and its various categories has been growing since the end of the Covid-19 pandemic ‘which is fantastic, the public attendance has been higher compared to pre-pandemic levels, which is great for us’, he said, referring to the crowds that occurred in Misano, Jerez, Le Mans, Algarve, or Sachsenring, for example.
‘I think one of the reasons we can perceive this phenomenon was the introduction of the Sprint, which added a full weekend to the circuits, filling the schedule. People can come on Friday, where the practices are important, on Saturday, both to follow the qualification and the sprint, which is a unique event in the World Championship, and then come on Sunday to watch the main show. So, it has been a really excellent connection’, highlighted Dan Rossomondo.
The Mandalika circuit in Indonesia will host the next round of the Moto3, Moto2, and MotoGP world championships.
