Augusto Fernández finished the Le Mans GP in 13th position. The Spanish rider was able to score points for the championship, adding only 3 points to his tally, which leaves the Red Bull GASGAS Tech3 rider in 17th position overall in the MotoGP world championship.
In the debrief, Augusto talked about the sensations he had during the Sunday race at the Le Mans GP.
– Some points are always good, but the race was not good. At the beginning, I had a bad start because I expected to have a better start and be closer to the front group. I couldn’t overtake and take advantage of what the soft tires offer, which is speed in corners. There are some positive points and improvements on the bike that are coming back. Now in Barcelona, the idea is to start more calmly and work on not making big changes because I don’t want to change our base.
Asked if Barcelona could be favorable due to the lack of grip, Augusto replied: ‘I don’t know about the lack of grip, but in the faster corners it could be, in this type of corners, last year, it was quite fast, so we’ll see how it goes.’
