Simon Längenfelder was the winner of the first race of the MXGP of Switzerland in the MX2 Motocross World Championship, held this Monday in Frauenfeld.
The Red Bull KTM rider got off to a good start with the holeshot, but it was his teammate Sacha Coenen who led the early laps… until Längenfelder completed the overtake on the Belgian on lap six.
From that point on, the German was never overtaken again, delivering a dominant performance to take the win… while the remaining podium spots saw lively battles.
Kay de Wolf (Nestaan Husqvarna) finished second, 8.412s behind, while Liam Everts (Nestaan Husqvarna) crossed the line in third with just over half a second ahead of Camden McLellan (Monster Energy Triumph).
Andrea Adamo (Red Bull KTM) suffered a crash on the second lap but managed to recover and limit the damage with a fifth-place finish – secured with a late overtake on Coenen in the final minutes.
