The French Grand Prix brought both drama and disruption to MotoGP, with Marc Márquez managing the chaos in Le Mans to secure an impressive second-place finish. However, the spotlight also fell on the crashes of Francesco Bagnaia and Alex Márquez. It was Alex’s increasingly solid form that prompted strong comments from Rubén Xaus.

Speaking on the Duralavita podcast, the former Spanish rider stated bluntly: ‘The key point is that Alex Márquez is putting Bagnaia in his place in every situation’. For Xaus, the younger Márquez is proving to be a real threat to the reigning champion.

Bagnaia left Le Mans with two DNFs and now faces not only the pressure of poor results but also growing doubt within his own camp. ‘Since Qatar, how many points has Pecco taken compared to Marc? Very few. And that’s going to cost him’, said Xaus.

According to the former rider, the harshest blow for Bagnaia isn’t losing to Marc—whose talent is unquestioned—but being outshined by Alex: ‘The real pain is Alex Márquez’.
