Another prototype of the Royal Enfield has been spotted in India and was reported by journalists from the Rush Lane website. The photographs clearly show us a motorcycle with a classic layout and the six and a half cylinder engine that we already know from the Super Meteor and the Interceptor, as well as the recent novelty Shot Gun that we analyzed in California. As we usually say, this is a period of great excitement for Royal Enfield, so much so that in India there are talks of about fifteen models on the way. These include a Classic 350 Bobber, a naked bike based on the 450 engine of the Himalayan, a scrambler based on the Interceptor, and now even a classic-style motorcycle with the 650 engine.
Among the bikes that have already been released in the recent period is the Bullet 350, which leads the Indian media to state that the glorious Royal Enfield model could also be named the two-cylinder Super Meteor. In fact, it could also be called Classic, or there could be two versions, as is the case with the single-cylinder 350 and, thus, have both the Classic and the Bullet, which, perhaps it is good to remember, is a legendary name in India and almost more beloved than the Royal Enfield brand itself, despite still being linked to a single-cylinder engine.
The presented prototype appears to be a modified basic Super Meteor, especially in the front with the fairing headlight and in the riding position with a higher and more advanced seat with footrests in a more central position. The suspension and rear also seem to be different, aesthetically resembling the Classic and the Bullet. The fork is no longer inverted and becomes traditional, like in the Interceptor and the Continental GT.
A bit like the Meteor and the Super Meteor, this new 650 could be a Super Classic and could do well in the Indian domestic market, which is no longer just oriented towards smaller engine sizes, but is evolving towards larger engine sizes and power. In any case, this bike will be equipped with the same 648cc twin-cylinder engine that produces 47 horsepower and 52 Nm of torque, with a six-speed gearbox.
