Royal Enfield has registered a trademark for a new name – Royal Enfield Classic 650 Twin. That’s right, the lovely retro roadster, the Royal Enfield Classic 350, is to be launched in a 650cc avatar.
The 650cc roadster has already been spotted several times and now the trademark application has been registered as ‘Formalities Chk Pass’, which means that the Indian Trademark Registry has authenticated the trademark application documents.
Now, as the bike has been spotted before, we know that it looks a lot like its smaller sister – the Classic 350. It has a similar headlight, a teardrop-shaped fuel tank and a split seat configuration. From the position of the handlebars and the central footrests, the riding position should also be upright, just like the 350.
It will be equipped with the same 648 cc twin-cylinder air/oil-cooled engine, which produces 47.45 HP and 52 Nm as the other 650 cc bikes. However, to suit the Classic’s relaxed, laid-back vibe, it’s likely to feature a slightly different engine tuning. It has twin exhausts that look very stylish with their chrome finish.
