RNF Racing continues to be dissatisfied with losing its place in the MotoGP field – being succeeded by Trackhouse Racing this year.
In a statement issued this Thursday, the England-based structure alleges ‘breaches of contractual obligations and involvement in anti-competitive practices’ with ‘severe’ damages to its operations and reputation.
The accusations continue: ‘Despite repeated attempts to resolve these issues through dialogue, Dorna and IRTA have consistently failed to fulfill their financial commitments and engaged in actions that constitute abuse of power and a violation of competition law. These actions have not only resulted in significant losses for our company, but also aim to undermine our competitive position and reputation in the industry’.
The entity led by Ovidiu Toma ensures that it has gathered ‘significant evidence’ of the ‘abusive behavior’ of Dorna and IRTA, as well as ‘disregard for legal agreements’, exposing the case ‘to relevant competition authorities’. The statement further informs that RNF is ‘prepared to pursue all legal avenues to seek’ compensation for the damages caused.
For the company, it is not only a matter of defending its own interests, ‘but also highlighting the importance of fair competition and integrity within the sport and business communities’.
