State Farm Stadium hosted another round of the AMA Supercross 250 West zone, and RJ Hampshire was the big winner. In a race that went from strength to strength, the Husqvarna rider took his second win of the year and moved closer to the championship lead held by Levi Kitchen.

In the evening’s main event Levi Kitchen got off to the best start with the holeshot, closely followed by Jordon Smith and RJ Hampshire. Smith fell behind Kitchen on the first lap, but overtook him just after the finish line. Unwilling to give in, Kitchen retaliated quickly in the next corner, regaining the lead.

Throughout the third lap, Smith pressurised Kitchen, managing to make another pass for the lead in the same place as the previous lap. RJ Hampshire, observing the duel, capitalised on Kitchen’s vulnerability, quickly overtaking him just two corners later, with the aim of catching Smith at the front.

Smith led for a further two laps before having an accident in the same place where he had crashed during qualifying. The slight slip allowed Hampshire to take the lead, with Smith quickly catching up behind Kitchen.

Halfway through the race, Ryder DiFrancesco crashed badly in the rhythm section after the finish, leaving him in a difficult position on the track while medics attended to him. Seizing the opportunity, Smith regained the lead from Kitchen, but had another accident in the same rhythm section where DiFrancesco crashed, opening up the top three positions.

When Smith regained momentum, he found himself in a fight for sixth place with Mitchell Oldenburg and Julien Beaumer. When Oldenburg tried to pass Beaumer, the manoeuvre slowed both riders down, allowing Smith to return to fourth place. Garrett Marchbanks, who was behind Smith, also manoeuvred around Oldenburg, securing fifth place just two laps later.

Holding a comfortable five-second lead, Hampshire led the race, with Kitchen maintaining a three-second advantage over Jo Shimoda as the clock ticked down. The race unfolded without any significant changes and Hampshire took the win, followed by Kitchen and Shimoda, with Smith and Marchbanks completing the top five. With this victory, Levi Kitchen now leads the category solo.
