Remy Gardner showed pace and potential at Assen, but saw his chances fade after a red flag and crash at the restart of Race 2.
The GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team rider was pleased with the progress made over the weekend at Assen, but left disappointed after a difficult Sunday. After a good start and being among the frontrunners, the red flag completely changed the dynamic
‘It was going well. I made a good start, I was overtaking the riders and I saw the red flag. Then, on the restart, I had a bad start and crashed at Turn 5. There’s not much to say’, he commented.
The Australian emphasised the team’s work and the fact that they were getting closer and closer to the front: ‘We’re getting closer and closer. The team has done a great job and we’re improving. But it wasn’t our day’.
