Remy Gardner was again the fastest on the second day of World Superbike testing in Jerez, thus taking the best time of these first days of track work for 2024.
After a less busy morning, more riders took to the track on Wednesday afternoon. Gardner (GYTR GRT Yamaha), who was already the fastest yesterday, completed his best lap in 1m38.448s. He beat rookie Nicolò Bulega (Aruba.it Ducati) by 0.278s. Jonathan Rea (Pata Yamaha) was third over seven tenths behind, followed by Alex Lowes (Kawasaki).
Andrea Iannone (Team GoEleven/Ducati) continues his adaptation in his return to competition and set an encouraging fifth time. He completed 68 laps and was 0.887s off the pace. Two-time champion Álvaro Bautista (Aruba.it Ducati) finished with the seventh fastest time – ahead of him were two riders testing for MotoGP – Lorenzo Savadori (Aprilia) and Stefan Bradl (Honda).
At the bottom of the table were the only two Supersport World Championship riders: Adrián Huertas in 18th place with a 0.614s lead over Valentin Debise.
