This Indonesian GP was not easy for the CryptoDATA RNF MotoGP Team duo, as Miguel Oliveira and Raúl Fernández showed some difficulties throughout the weekend, as Razlan Razali himself mentioned. On Sunday, there was a mistake that ended up not making the pilot’s job easier.
The founder and team manager of RNF spoke about the team’s weekend: ‘The Indonesian Grand Prix was tough, even from Friday, we didn’t have the pace. Both riders didn’t feel comfortable with the bike and it showed in qualifying’.
Then he talked about Oliveira specifically… and pointed out a mistake, although not clearly related to Portuguese: ‘Although Miguel was in Q2, we couldn’t capitalize on a better grid position. The Sprint race was also difficult with soft tires and, unfortunately, the decision to use soft tires in the race was a mistake’.
And he continued, saying that the fact that they were able to score some points was also due to ‘luck’:
– As you can see, many of the other drivers who used soft tires saw their times decrease or even drop. But we were very lucky to score some points. This is something we have to accept and learn from. Now, we are heading to Melbourne next week and we will see what happens there.
