Happy with his performance in the first two days of testing with the BMW alongside the other WSBK riders, Toprak Razgatlioglu still sees room for improvement with his bike and has requested that some changes be made.
Quoted on the official championship website, the ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team rider talked about his “issues” with riding the bike at the moment, asking for more attention and work in certain aspects: ‘My biggest problem is full lean and acceleration. The acceleration is not bad, but we need to improve it. In full lean, we need more grip. We are working on it. If we improve the rear grip, we will always fight for the podium’.
He continued, addressing some progress made: ‘I am very happy that we have improved the corner entry and braking with the engine. Step by step, we will improve all the issues. The differences in the swingarm are not easy to explain. Sometimes I think it’s very good, other times it’s worse. In general, we used the new one today, but we have to ride again in Portimão with the new swingarm. Now I’m not sure. I used the old swingarm for the 1:38.6s, but we tested the new swingarm in the afternoon. I’m not sure if it improved or not because in hot conditions, the bike changes completely. We have to see in the Portimão test’.
The tests in Portugal will take place on January 29th and 30th at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve.
