On Monday, Raúl Fernández had the opportunity to experience for the first time the 2024 version of the Aprilia RS-GP. The Trackhouse Racing rider is the only one with last year’s bike, as the Noale manufacturer is not yet able to provide four current bikes.
And to access the 2024 RS-GP in Grand Prix races, the Spaniard will still have to wait. As reported by the Motosan.es site, he also stated that he is not very concerned about the matter:
– They told me at least five or six races. I also say that I’m not thinking about when it will arrive. After all, the bike we have is very competitive, but there is always that doubt, especially at the personal level of the rider, to know what would happen with the same equipment or where we would be. At most, we would be in the same situation, even worse, or I would be closer to them.
Fernández also said: ‘For example, in America we were a bit faster than last year, but in the end you don’t really see where you are. So, well, I would like to have the bike and see. I repeat, what we have is not bad at all and I really like the bike we have‘.
Regarding the differences he felt in this year’s bike, #25 commented: ‘The aerodynamics change. The plan was simply to use it and see how it worked, and the truth is that I think it was positive. […]. I saw that the bike works very well, but it is quite different‘.
