Raúl Fernández seems to be showing more of the potential that led him to be considered one of the biggest promises in recent years in motorcycling. The rider attributed this “change” in paradigm to several factors.
After the GP in India, number 25 of the CryptoDATA RNF MotoGP Team explained: ‘Basically on the bike I can ride as I want, I can push the pace and in the corners I can enter as I like, as I have done all my life and with the bike it was that. In my personal life I made some changes and it seems to be working well, with my family behind me and helping me a lot and I think that is the key to this improvement, maybe that was it…’
For the 22-year-old rider, the evolution of his clinical condition was also crucial, after being affected for a long time with pain in one of his arms, combined with a greater belief in the equipment, he ensured: ‘Furthermore, during the summer break I had time to prepare well because honestly I did the first part of the season with a lot of problems in my arm. It may not seem very difficult but on the bike it is very difficult to manage. I did a bit of everything but above all it is being able to ride as I want, we didn’t change much on the bike. Maybe I understand it better and believe in it more’.
And he concluded: ‘When you are having a difficult year it is complicated to change in the snap of a finger: you need time, to understand things, to believe in yourself again, in the team, in the bike…’
