If there were already a lot of attention on Pedro Acosta, there is even more interest and curiosity about the Red Bull GasGas Tech3 rider after the tests in Sepang. The rookie was consistently one of the fastest, finishing among the top ten on all three days – despite only being at the Malaysian circuit three times and taking his first steps in the premier class.
When asked if he feels the pressure of being in the spotlight, the young Spanish rider assured that he is taking things calmly, emphasizing that some riders who finished the test behind him will probably be ahead in the races.
“Pressure is just a word. If you believe in it, you carry it with you. After all, I have lived the last three years of my life with pressure every day. So, it has become very normal. We can’t focus on the tests because… you can see [Jack] Miller in 14th, [Álex] Rins in 15th, [Fabio] Quartararo in 11th, [Brad] Binder in 11th. These riders will be ahead on a race weekend. So, we remain calm.”
