Rumors surrounding the future of Pramac in MotoGP continue – despite their team manager, Gino Borsoi, already having guaranteed that they would remain with two official Ducati bikes in 2025.
According to the Corse di Moto website, which cites ‘well-informed sources in the paddock’, Paolo Campinoti’s team may have already reached an agreement with Yamaha – in what would be the first time as a satellite of that manufacturer.
Currently, the YZR-M1 is a much less competitive bike than the Ducati Desmosedici GP. However, there are financial advantages for Pramac in this partnership, which would have favorable conditions in terms of rider and bike payments.
In recent rounds, Yamaha seems to be making progress on the track, with the manufacturer trying to take advantage of development concessions. Having a satellite team again, to assist in this development process, is a strong ambition of Yamaha, which has been the only brand with only the factory team since last year.
Decisions should not take long. It is speculated that Pramac has an option to renew with Ducati, but this expires on July 31st. Furthermore, these are contracts that need to be closed well in advance, in order to allow for the necessary logistical preparation.
