Pirelli has been confirmed as the new official tire supplier for MotoGP from 2027. The Italian company will take on the responsibility of supplying compounds for the MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3 categories, in a five-year contract that will run until 2031. This agreement marks a new phase for the competition, coinciding with the introduction of new technical regulations and new machines on the grid.

The decision to establish a single supplier for all the main categories aims to create a more uniform progression for the riders, ensuring that emerging talents can develop more consistently from the training classes to the premier class of motorcycling.

Currently, Pirelli already supplies tires for the Moto2 and Moto3 categories and for various championships included in the “Road to MotoGP” program. With this expansion, the company will play an even more central role in the high-performance motorcycling scene. In addition, Pirelli will also supply tires for the MotoE electric category, replacing Michelin.

Until the end of the 2026 season, Michelin will remain the exclusive supplier for MotoGP and MotoE, maintaining its commitment to performance, safety and sustainability. Over the next two years, the French company will continue to develop advanced compounds, including more sustainable solutions with a high content of renewable and recyclable materials.

The transition to Pirelli marks a strategic change in racing, with the promise of a new cycle of technological innovation in the development of racing tires. More details on the specifications and allocations of the new tires will be released in the coming months.
